Quail are types of birds that are easy and quick to cook. Impress your friends and family members with this simple fried quail recipe featuring a wonderful onion and tomato sauce.
Ingredients
7 quail
1 Large Onion, chopped
1 Large Tomato, chopped
1 tbsp grated ginger
2 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp graham masala
1/2 tsp ginger powder
pinch of hot pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Dried basil leaves
Directions
Cut each quail in half. Combine with spices (1/4 tsp salt, pinch of hot pepper, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp ginger powder)
In a large skillet, put oil, turn heat to high and sauté quails until cooked through. Remove to a platter and keep aside.
Using the same oil on the skillet, put onions, ginger, garlic,1/4 tsp salt, hot pepper, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp graham masala, dried basil leaves and tomato, stir for a while then add fried quails then a 1/2 cup water. Cook, until sauce is thickened. Serve immediately and garnish, if you like, with herbs.
